Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
2–5 years of experience working with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications in a healthcare environment.
Experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and clinical requirements.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and deployment processes.
Experience providing application support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting end users in clinical or healthcare settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Epic Certification(s) strongly preferred.
Clinical background (nursing, allied health, or clinical operations) strongly preferred.
Experience participating in 2+ full-cycle Epic implementations.
Experience in healthcare process improvement, workflow optimization, or digital transformation initiatives.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment (approximately 80% remote, 20% onsite with short-notice onsite availability).
Roles & Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business, clinical, and technical requirements from stakeholders.
Conduct interviews, workshops, and walkthroughs with clinicians, end users, and business stakeholders to define system needs and workflows.
Translate business and clinical requirements into functional specifications, workflow diagrams, and technical documentation.
Identify and document data sources, system interfaces, reporting requirements, and integration dependencies.
Define and document non-functional requirements, including performance, usability, security, and compliance considerations.
Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
Support all phases of testing, including test planning, test case development, unit testing support, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), execution, and validation.
Document change requests, system enhancements, release notes, and end-user training materials.
Provide application support by troubleshooting system issues, resolving defects, and assisting end users in a timely manner.
Facilitate and lead requirement-gathering sessions, stakeholder meetings, and solution design workshops.
Identify risks, issues, gaps, and dependencies, and actively support mitigation and resolution planning.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and optimization of clinical workflows and system usage.
Support training, system deployment, go-live activities, and post-implementation stabilization.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
