An Epic Analyst is responsible for the analysis, configuration, testing, and support of Epic Systems applications in a healthcare environment. This role serves as a liaison between clinical, operational, and IT teams to optimize Epic workflows, improve system efficiency, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong analytical and communication skills.
Analyze, design, configure, and maintain Epic modules to meet organizational requirements.
Gather and document business and clinical requirements, translating them into system specifications.
Conduct system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT stakeholders to streamline workflows and enhance system usability.
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing end-user support and guidance.
Participate in Epic upgrades, patches, and optimization projects.
Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics to support decision-making.
Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and policies.
Stay updated on Epic best practices, system functionality, and industry trends.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, or related field.
Experience with Epic Systems modules (e.g., Epic Ambulatory, Epic Inpatient, Epic Willow, Epic Radiant).
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with diverse teams.
Epic certification in relevant modules.
Experience with Epic reporting tools such as Clarity, Reporting Workbench, or Radar.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD).
Project management experience or understanding of Agile methodology.
