We are seeking an experienced Engineer II to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, cloud-native microservices, and AWS-based data platforms. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance backend solutions in a production environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java (8+) and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable, cloud-native microservices following software engineering best practices.
• Design and optimize data models using Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL) and DynamoDB.
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, deployments, and incident response activities.
• Ensure performance, security, reliability, and scalability of backend services in production.

Required Qualifications

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science / IT (React, .NET WPF, or React Native experience is a plus).
• 5–10 years of backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Amazon DynamoDB and efficient NoSQL data modeling.
• Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Experience deploying and monitoring services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, ECS, or EKS.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging tools like Kafka or SQS.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, API security, and OAuth.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks.
• Monitoring and logging experience using CloudWatch or ELK stack.
