Assist engineers in executing test plans per EMC standards and provide support in debugging and analyzing test data.
Perform periodic calibration and verification of EMC test equipment (ESD guns, surge testers, oscilloscopes, VNAs, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support the setup and maintenance of EMC testing labs, including bringup of new equipment and ensuring proper verification and calibration processes.
Perform teardown, rework, and soldering on consumer electronics, including handling components as small as 01005.
Review EMC test data, generate test reports, and communicate results to engineers. Collaborate to resolve any anomalous results.
Work with engineers, facilities, and third-party vendors to deploy and install new EMC test equipment, chambers, and verify lab functionality.
Monitor equipment calibration schedules and coordinate with third-party partners for calibration and maintenance tasks.
Success Criteria
Completion of EMC validation for all development builds on supported projects.
Successful setup and maintenance of verification and calibration processes in EMC Labs (RV04 and PL01).
On-time calibration, verification, and deployment of new test equipment.
High-quality teardown, rework, and soldering of consumer electronics products.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience testing and debugging consumer electronics prototypes, including both hardware and software/firmware EMC issues.
Familiarity with EMC test standards like EN55022, EN55032, IEC61000-3-3, IEC61000-4-2, IEC61000-4-3, IEC61000-4-4, IEC61000-4-5, IEC61000-4-6, IEC61000-4-11, ETSI 301 489-7.
Proficiency in lab equipment operation and maintenance, including calibration of ESD guns, surge testers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers (SAs), vector network analyzers (VNAs), and more.
Experience supervising EMC testing and optimizing testing procedures for quality and efficiency.
Experience testing and validating products at contract manufacturers and ISO 17025-accredited labs is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with experience generating clear, accurate technical reports.
Hands-on experience in reworking small electrical components (e.g., 01005 package).
