Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement embedded software in C/C++ for avionics or other safety-critical applications.
  • Develop and maintain software components including device drivers, I/O layers, and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL).
  • Work on real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks, including Board Support Package (BSP) development and integration.
  • Ensure compliance with DO-178C standards (DAL A/B/C) across all software development life cycle phases, including requirements, design, coding, verification, and certification documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware and systems teams on power electronics, motor control, and drive software architectures.
  • Participate in code reviews, static/dynamic analysis, and verification activities to ensure software reliability and safety.
  • Utilize tools such as IBM DOORS, PTC Integrity, or equivalent for requirements management and traceability.
  • Contribute to design documentation, test plans, and reports in accordance with aerospace and defense standards.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded software design and development for avionics or safety-critical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and real-time software development.
  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., VxWorks) and BSP development.
  • Deep understanding of DO-178C standards and DAL A/B/C certification processes.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD, ARINC 429, and AFDX communication protocols.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or Integrity.
  • Solid understanding of power electronics and motor control systems.
