Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Dynatrace Engineer with extensive experience in platform administration, configuration, and enterprise-scale migration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, automating, and optimizing Dynatrace environments, driving observability initiatives, and ensuring robust monitoring and alerting across SaaS and Managed deployments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale enterprise Dynatrace migration projects from Managed to SaaS environments.
- Design and execute dashboard migration strategies using Dynatrace Configuration APIs.
- Transform and validate dashboards, calculated metrics, and custom USQL queries for multi-tenant SaaS compatibility.
- Develop automated scripts for bulk dashboard export/import using Python or Java.
- Establish and enforce Dynatrace governance standards, alerting best practices, and monitoring policies.
- Perform synthetic monitoring setup, RUM configuration, and application performance baseline validation.
- Configure and manage alerting profiles, notification channels, and management zones in SaaS environments.
- Conduct user training, knowledge transfer sessions, and provide technical guidance on Dynatrace SaaS features.
- Support cloud infrastructure tasks (AWS preferred) as required to enable migration activities.
- Troubleshoot complex monitoring scenarios and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Required Technical/Functional Skills
- 6–8 years of experience with Dynatrace platform administration and configuration.
- Expert-level proficiency in Dynatrace: Configuration API, Environment API, Settings API.
- Deep understanding of Dynatrace architecture, including Managed vs SaaS differences and data retention policies.
- Advanced dashboard development: custom metrics, calculated service metrics, USQL queries.
- Large-scale monitoring platform migration experience with data transformation expertise.
- Strong scripting skills in Python or Java for API automation and migration tasks.
- Experience integrating Dynatrace with ITSM tools, notification channels, and third-party platforms.
- Knowledge of synthetic monitoring, RUM configuration, and APM best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and CI/CD concepts.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities for complex monitoring environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dynatrace Professional or Expert certification.
- Experience managing multi-tenant Dynatrace environments.
- Background in enterprise observability strategy, implementation, and monitoring-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with version control and deployment of monitoring configurations.
