Job Description

The demand for fresh food is increasing the need for better shipping and storing capabilities across the entire cold supply chain. Food spoilage continues to be a major problem with ~1/3 of it being thrown away. Food safety is a problem as well with 1 in 6 Americans contracting foodborne illness each year. We see a future where all food shipped from farm to fork, arrives safely and sustainably. We provide the critical technologies and services to enable this future.

This position is responsible for leading a team of product managers for our Building Solutions portfolio consisting of refrigeration and building management controls, enterprise facility monitoring and managed services. This team drives the vision, strategy, design and execution of our building solutions to achieve the sales and profit plan. They work with sales, marketing, solutions, engineering and support to build a growing network of happy, referenceable customers.

This person will be responsible for evangelizing a product culture across the organization including relentless focus on customer, cross-functional product discovery and delivery, design, and data informed decision making. This person will continue to develop and improve the Product Management function, including building the vision, assessing and developing the current organization, adding talent, inspiring best in class approaches and working collaboratively with leaders across the business. The leader will bring their rich experience and point of view and elaborate the spirit of the Product Management vision outlined above.

As The Director of Product Management - Building Solutions, YOU WILL:
•Director of Product Management is responsible for:
•Building product management organization and "product culture"
•People management
•The product and value proposition
•Maximizing the value of the product and work of the engineering teams
•Being an expert in the user, the jobs they are trying to accomplish and problems they face
•Driving the vision, strategy, design and execution of the product
•Product roadmaps and requirements
•Prioritizing work of the engineering teams
•Managing the full lifecycle of the product from cradle to grave
•Building a growing network of happy, referenceable customers for the product

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing or Business. An MBA is a strong plus.
•5+ years' of increasing levels of product management responsibility in modern product companies.
•Experience working with engineers who build physical devices
•Experience working with an agile software development team
•Has worked in a leadership role on a product team to develop and design, build and ship products.
•Has shipped multiple products.
•Expertise in product discovery and ability to structure a testing plan to validate/invalidate assumptions from insight to launch.
•Expertise in tools for building conceptual product models, wireframes and interactive low-fidelity product prototypes to communicate product vision.
•Commercial development and marketing expertise in a B2B and B2C environment that lead to stronger market penetration.
•Industry experience with refrigeration

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
•Has had direct people management responsibility.
•5+ years experience in software industry
•Experience developing software in any language; not production code but enough to hack a working prototype together
•Can recruit, interview, onboard and coach software product managers.
•Experience in the launch of multiple B2B/B2C products, with IoT and subscription-based business models a plus
•Experience working on a team with user experience professionals
•Experience working between technology stacks that include hardware, firmware, cloud APIs and mobile app
•Experience in a sales or marketing role
