Core Responsibilities

• Build and package software for Linux ecosystems
• Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines for integration of software components in diverse environments.
• Work with development teams to implement strong branching and code promotion strategies
• Troubleshoot, profile existing/ new implementations for improvements.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Jenkins, creating pipeline, groovy scripts
• Strong expertise in at least one of linux packaging ecosystems - specifically, Debian, RPM, APT, YUM  in one or more Linux distributions/Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE Linux Ubuntu.
• Strong expertise in Git
• Strong expertise in managing at least one of these ecosystems Gerrit or Github.
• Strong expertise in all of these build automation/ orchestration frameworks: Jenkins and Ansible
• Strong expertise in all of DevOps tool chains: Python, Groovy, Bash, CMake, GNU Make
• Strong expertise in all of container frameworks: Docker, Docker compose
• Practical exposure to atleast one of test automation frameworks: Google Test, Python Unittest, Junit, Nunit, Robotframework
• Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization, analysis of bottleneck problems
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals - DHCP, DNS, PXE, VLANs, Virtualization networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Exposure to Virtualization technologies QEMU, KVM or VirtualBox is a definite plus
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Puppet, Chef, Salt Stack is a definite plus
• Active participation in open source projects is a definite plus
