Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current Sybase/MySQL environments and develop strategies for migrating to PostgreSQL (transactional) and Redshift (analytical). Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Use tools like AWS SCT, pgLoader, and AWS DMS to automate migrations. Customize scripts for complex conversions and ensure data accuracy.
• Optimize PostgreSQL (indexing, partitioning) and Redshift for improved performance. Implement efficient ETL pipelines using AWS Glue.
• Execute testing plans for data validation and performance. Resolve any post-migration issues.
• Provide ongoing tuning and support. Document migration processes and train teams on PostgreSQL and Redshift.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Sybase ASE/IQ, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift. Proficient with AWS SCT, pgLoader, AWS DMS, and SQL scripting.
• 5+ years in database administration, development, or migration with a focus on Sybase/MySQL to PostgreSQL/Redshift.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred

• AWS certifications and experience with real-time data replication tools (e.g., Debezium, Kafka).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
