Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems across on-premise and AWS environments
• Implement and manage replication and high availability solutions tailored to application needs
• Administer and optimize AWS managed database services to ensure performance and cost-efficiency
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and recurring tasks using Ansible and CloudFormation
• Design and implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and address performance bottlenecks
• Conduct regular maintenance, perform health checks, and support capacity planning
• Collaborate with developers to design optimized schemas and tune complex queries
• Coordinate with DevSecOps for applying patches and ensuring database security
• Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss
• Support internal teams by generating ad-hoc reports and providing data-driven insights

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, Redis, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Proficiency with AWS services: RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, EC2, S3
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and AWS CloudFormation
• Proficient in Shell Scripting or Python
• Solid understanding of Linux system administration
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools: CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, MonYog
