Roles and Responsibilities

• Own and drive the architecture and technical decisions regarding the Crew Oracle database in the cloud (AWS RDS), ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
• Design and implement data conversion strategies, as well as develop interfaces to automate processes, creating a fully integrated data solution to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership for the design, implementation, and optimization of data solutions. Ensure alignment with business goals and contribute to the technical success of the solution throughout its lifecycle.
• Work closely with other architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet the requirements and expectations of all parties involved.
• Apply best practices in data tuning, performance optimization, and data migration to ensure that the data infrastructure is running efficiently and can handle growing data demands.
• Play a pivotal role in cloud data strategy, leveraging your expertise in AWS and Oracle Exadata to drive seamless transitions and migrations to cloud-based environments.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in data architecture and processes, ensuring the scalability and reliability of systems while meeting the evolving needs of the business.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise-scale data architectures, with a focus on Oracle Exadata and AWS RDS.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions, particularly AWS (Amazon RDS, Redshift, etc.) and Oracle Exadata.
• Proficiency in designing and executing complex data migrations and data tuning strategies to optimize performance and ensure seamless transitions.
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning and ability to troubleshoot and optimize data systems.
• Prior experience in providing data architecture solutions for crew management applications or similar industry-specific systems.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive innovation while balancing technical constraints with business requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
