Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers working on Connex-based applications on HPE NonStop/Tandem systems.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Connex transaction processing, encompassing ATM, POS, and online authorization systems.
• Perform in-depth debugging and analysis of Connex modules, handling real-time transaction issues with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, application, and network) to resolve incidents and ensure high availability.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards and maintain detailed documentation, runbooks, and support guides.
• Monitor system health and proactively address environmental or system-level issues using tools like EMS, Prognosis, and internal utilities.
• Maintain and improve the quality, performance, and scalability of Connex-based applications.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and lead initiatives to optimize system reliability and support.

Skills & Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Connex switch and associated components.
• Strong understanding of Authorization Processing (AP), including AP Maintenance and AP online transaction workflows.
• Deep knowledge of transaction processing across ATM, POS, and payment schemes.
• Proficient in programming languages: TAL, COBOL, S-COBOL, and TACL.
• Expertise in Tandem utilities including: FUP, Enscribe, Enform, Bind/XLD, SQL, DDL, INSPECT, Netbatch, Spooler, Peruse, Pathway concepts.
• Experience with Connex modules and tools: PI, TH, CH, PMC, CED, SMONINQY, CMSUTIL, NMI, EMS, Prognosis, etc.
• Strong debugging and source code analysis skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and ensure system uptime.
