Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to shop floor personnel, assisting with the coordination of manufacturing parts.
  • Generate and modify offline CNC programs using NX CAM software for 3-axis and 5-axis machining operations.
  • Develop effective machining strategies to optimize production processes.
  • Create process models and necessary fixturing for programming to ensure efficient manufacturing.
  • Validate CNC programs on the 840D controller to ensure accuracy and functionality.
  • Utilize PLM software for data management, with a preference for Siemens Teamcenter experience.
  • Output and edit CNC code for automated operation on designated work centers.
  • Develop setup and supporting documentation to instruct factory personnel on automated manufacturing methods.
  • Plan and organize work effectively to meet budget and schedule constraints.
  • Specify and design cutting tools to be used in machining processes.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot machining results and work-holding issues, optimizing the manufacturing process.
  • Create and provide reports to upper management on program performance and operational efficiency.

 

Job Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Machining Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an offline CNC programmer.
  • Proficient in cutting tool design and specification.
  • Strong understanding of feed and speed calculations for optimal material removal rates.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
  • Proficient in GD&T according to ASME Y14.5 1994 and ASME Y14.5 2009 standards.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Background in power generation or aerospace preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with manufacturing engineering, precision inspection personnel, and shop floor employees.
