Cloudflare Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloudflare Architect with strong hands-on expertise in designing, reviewing, and optimizing Cloudflare solutions in production environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable assessing existing configurations, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Review and assess existing Cloudflare configurations, architecture, security controls, traffic management, and performance settings.

• Identify configuration gaps, risks, optimization opportunities, and areas for platform improvement.

• Translate technical findings into prioritized, actionable recommendations aligned with business and technical objectives.

• Design and recommend scalable, secure, and resilient Cloudflare architectures and configurations.

• Advise engineering, security, infrastructure, and other stakeholders on Cloudflare capabilities, best practices, and architectural tradeoffs.

• Support teams through the implementation of recommended Cloudflare improvements.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:

  • Architecture standards

  • Configuration standards

  • Operational runbooks

  • Decision logs

  • Assessment reports

  • Executive-ready findings and recommendations

• Clearly communicate technical risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and recommended remediation plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Establish and promote Cloudflare governance, standards, and best practices across environments.

Required Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on experience with Cloudflare in production environments.

• Strong understanding of Cloudflare services and capabilities, including areas such as CDN, DNS, WAF, Zero Trust, Load Balancing, DDoS protection, and traffic management.

• Proven experience reviewing existing Cloudflare configurations and architecture.

• Ability to convert assessment findings into prioritized and actionable recommendations.

• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

• Experience creating standards, runbooks, architecture documentation, decision logs, and executive-level reports.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Consulting experience or demonstrated ability to advise stakeholders, explain technical tradeoffs, and guide teams through platform improvements.
