Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain Cloudera Hadoop/CDP clusters across multiple environments.
  • Monitor cluster health, connectivity, and performance using tools such as Cloudera Manager, Grafana, and Splunk. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, tune Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive), and perform capacity planning.
  • Implement and manage security configurations including Kerberos, Sentry/Ranger, HDFS ACLs, and integration with enterprise IAM/LDAP.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or Perl to streamline administrative tasks and configuration management.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and production support for Hadoop ecosystem components and big data applications, including participation in an on-call rotation.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, and patching of Cloudera and Hadoop components while ensuring minimal downtime.

 

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloudera/Hadoop Administrator in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools.
  • Proven experience with Cloudera Manager and cluster administration.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols such as Kerberos and SSL/TLS in big data environments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Hadoop) are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
