Our client is seeking a data-driven Cloud FinOps Analyst to join a premier enterprise client in Washington, D.C. In this high-impact role, you will drive financial accountability across a sophisticated multi-cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP), bridging engineering, finance, and executive leadership to ensure cloud investments deliver maximum organizational value. You will own the FinOps lifecycle—Inform, Optimize, and Operate—identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing governance controls, and translating complex cloud billing data into actionable insights that support strategic growth.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Cost Optimization: Develop and execute FinOps strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Perform continuous usage analysis to identify rightsizing opportunities, cost efficiencies, and optimization levers.
- Anomaly Management: Investigate cloud cost spikes and collaborate with Cloud Solutions and Application teams to mitigate financial risks and prevent recurrence.
- Governance & Compliance: Design and enforce cloud governance frameworks to ensure resource deployments align with organizational standards and industry best practices.
- Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Support end-to-end cloud financial processes, including cost allocation, chargeback/showback models, budgeting, and monthly forecasting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a subject matter expert for cross-functional teams, improving asset management, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Strategic Growth: Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and FinOps methodologies to continuously advance the organization’s cloud financial operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of AWS and Azure cloud resources, pricing models, and usage costs. Exposure to GCP is a plus.
- Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud management and FinOps tools, preferably Apptio and CloudAbility.
- Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to analyze complex cloud billing data and translate insights into actionable recommendations for executives.
- Project Leadership: Experience managing multiple projects concurrently in a large-scale, multi-cloud enterprise environment.
- Certification: FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) preferred. Strong knowledge of the FinOps Framework required.
- Communication: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear guidance to stakeholders at all levels.
