Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced BMC MainView Consultant with strong mainframe systems engineering experience to support the design, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing administration of BMC MainView within complex mainframe environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with BMC MainView, REXX, and Python, along with expertise in mainframe software deployment, SYSPLEX environments, automation, monitoring, and systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform design analysis, documentation, testing, implementation, configuration, and support for BMC MainView within mainframe environments.
- Provide technical consulting and customized recommendations related to BMC MainView monitoring solutions.
- Install, configure, maintain, and manage mainframe software deployments across highly granular SYSPLEX environments.
- Support BMC MainView components including MainView Explorer and MainView Viewer.
- Maintain high quality, consistency, availability, and reliability of systems software and automation processes.
- Develop and enhance installation scripts, reporting processes, and automation using JCL, REXX, SAS, SQL, Python, Java, and JavaScript.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BMC MainView installation, configuration, monitoring, and operational issues.
- Analyze system and monitoring issues and provide appropriate recommendations and remediation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for mainframe systems engineering processes, procedures, and automation.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, installation procedures, operational procedures, and support documentation.
- Work independently to complete technical assignments within established timelines.
- Collaborate with mainframe engineering teams and other technology stakeholders to support strategic engineering objectives.
- Identify potential risks and control issues within day-to-day operations and escalate appropriately.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of mainframe monitoring, automation, and systems-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of experience in mainframe systems engineering or related technology roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with BMC MainView.
- Strong programming/scripting experience with REXX and Python.
- Experience working with JCL and mainframe automation.
- Experience installing and managing software in complex SYSPLEX environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with mainframe monitoring and systems-management tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
