Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Working with functional leads and IT team to define approaches, requirements, and testing
  • Objectives planning, defining scope and deliverables
  • Creation and approval of core project documentation including business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, technical specifications, Epics/stories, current and future state diagrams, and support user acceptance testing
  • Documentation of all required meeting materials and develop target state operating procedures
  • Hands on product and data specialist
  • Able to independently review and evaluate data sources, business rules etc...
  • Support process re-engineering opportunities front to back for markets products
  • Help the projects to capture and maintenance of all dynamic data within the core systems which impacts downstream Ops processing
  • Project plan activity/SDLC tracking - planning, sequencing, and working with Development and QA teams
  • Assist in testing phases to review test strategy, plans and test cases as well as documentation
  • Risk and issue identification, communication, and resolution

Skills Required: 

  • 12+ years of experience working with various Broker/Dealer products securities processing including Equities, Bonds, Treasuries, ABS, MBS, Securitized Products, Repos/Reverse Repo, Stock Borrow/Loan
  • Prior experience in understanding and delivering requirements for First Trust Technology AlphaDEX® Fund (FXL)
  • Experience delivering Financial Services related projects, familiarity with processes and controls
  • Must be a strong writer and communicator with experience writing BRDs and FRDs
  • Managed trade requirements throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Streamline interface to the business to end to end operational processes supporting the securities and derivatives product
  • Analyses to warehouse and manage all Cash, Stock, FOBO and Inter-system reconciliations and help to investigate to fine-tune requirements.
  • Ability to work across departments including Technology, Operations, Finance, Risk and various Front and Back Offices
  • Experience with middle office systems, working with Broadridge systems – Finpro/ BPS/ Impact
  • Experience with an Oracle General Ledger and Murex applications a plus
  • Prior experience managing vendors highly desirable
  • Prior experience in Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
  • Prior experience in JIRA and SharePoint required
  • Ability to present well and communicate clearly
  • SQL – preferred experience in Oracle, SQL Server databases
  • “Go-getter” attitude, ability to multitask and work in a team environment
