Azure DevOps CI/CD Architect

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-scale CI/CD architectures using Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Lead the transition from manual software delivery to automated CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Design and maintain reusable Azure Pipelines and YAML-based pipeline frameworks.
• Establish best practices for source control, branching, release automation, automated testing, and deployment governance.
• Develop and implement DevOps strategies aligned with enterprise and organizational technology goals.
• Integrate security and code-quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar technologies.
• Support containerized application environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Implement modern DevOps practices including GitOps and platform engineering.
• Configure and manage Azure services such as Azure Key Vault and integrate secure secrets management into deployment workflows.
• Develop automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, or Python.
• Troubleshoot complex CI/CD, deployment, infrastructure, and pipeline issues.
• Establish reusable frameworks, standards, documentation, and governance for DevOps teams.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across DevOps and cloud initiatives.
• Communicate architecture, technical strategy, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT or software engineering experience, including significant experience in DevOps, cloud, or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on Azure DevOps experience.
• Advanced experience with:
  • Azure DevOps
  • Azure Pipelines
  • YAML
  • Azure Boards
  • Azure Repos
  • Git
  • Release automation
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale DevOps or CI/CD transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience designing reusable CI/CD pipeline frameworks and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with Azure cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, security controls, and deployment governance.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to communicate complex architecture and strategy clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure or Azure DevOps certification.
• Experience leading large-scale enterprise or public-sector DevOps transformations.
• Experience with Azure Key Vault, GitOps, and modern platform engineering practices.
• Experience with code-quality and security tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx, or Veracode.
• Experience developing automation with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, or Python.
