Lead application modernization and migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure PaaS.
Analyze existing application architecture, dependencies, integrations, infrastructure, and database connectivity.
Design and implement application hosting solutions using Azure services such as:
Azure App Service
Azure Functions
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Azure Container Instances (ACI)
Assess and optimize application hosting configurations and performance across Azure PaaS services.
Define Azure target-state architecture based on customer infrastructure and application landscapes.
Contribute to Azure Landing Zone design and cloud adoption strategies.
Develop architectural diagrams, solution designs, UML diagrams, and technical presentations.
Containerize web applications, front-end applications, and web services and deploy them on Kubernetes/AKS.
Perform application performance assessments before and after migration.
Evaluate migration scenarios and recommend appropriate migration pathways based on application requirements.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Platform, DevOps, Integration, Infrastructure, and Project Management teams.
Ensure solutions align with Azure best practices, business requirements, infrastructure considerations, stakeholder expectations, and value-for-money objectives.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development and migration teams.
Lead teams of 5+ members and provide hands-on technical direction.
Troubleshoot application and hosting issues across Azure PaaS environments.
Support multiple projects simultaneously, approximately 10–12 projects in parallel.
Participate in customer discussions, solution workshops, technical reviews, and migration planning.
Provide migration support during weekends when required.
Work across customer-aligned time zones as needed.
Required Technical Skills
12+ years of application development and application modernization experience.
Strong hands-on web application development experience.
Experience developing, configuring, and hosting applications on IIS.
Strong hands-on experience hosting web applications on Azure PaaS.
Experience migrating and modernizing applications to Azure.
Strong understanding of Azure application hosting and configuration optimization.
Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, AKS, and Azure Container Instances.
Strong understanding of application architecture, dependencies, integrations, and migration pathways.
Experience with application containerization and Kubernetes.
Experience hosting containerized applications on AKS.
Understanding of database connectivity, configuration, and application-to-database integration.
Experience with application performance assessment and optimization before and after migration.
Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
Strong software engineering and solution design experience.
Experience creating architectural diagrams and UML diagrams.
Experience with application migration scenarios and methodologies.
