Key Responsibilities:

• Understands fundamentals of large scale on-premises and cloud mission critical systems, networking, security, redundancy, scalability, monitoring, & performance API's.
• Fast, adaptable, with a proven ability to integrate and exploit new technologies, PAAS offerings, and API's
• Working experience of AWS architecture and operations, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Cloud Formation.
• Good knowledge of API Gateways, Kinesis, Lambda, ECS and EKS
• Knowledge and experience configuring Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and Security groups (SG).
• Experience working in AWS via the CLI and management console.
• Configuring auto-scaling and load balancing in AWS.
• Utilize the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) features for provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and distribution of compute infrastructure.
• Use Amazon Cloud Watch to establish metrics and monitor the health/utilization of the AWS resource.
• Utilize AWS Cloud Formation to automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment to reduce time to production.
• Leverage resource tagging to allocate costs and optimize resource planning for budgeting, reporting, and governance.
• Manage and administer AWS infrastructure and environments (Production, Staging, Development and QA).
• Support and enhance the Jenkins CI/CD infrastructure.
• Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical staff and management.
• Understanding of general security architecture and design, source control and change management.
• Scripting Languages – preferably Python.
• Cloud Admin/Migration experience – AWS a must
• Monitoring/Alerting automations – experience with HP APM preferred
• Solid implementation experience in AWS Services – EC2, VPC, ALB, S3, EFS, SQS, API Gateway, R53, CloudWatch, RDS, Postgres SQL, etc.,
• Heavy experience in Terraform scripts for AWS IAC.
• Monitoring AppDynamics, Kibana and Tools such Prometheus, Logstash
• Ability to translate business and technical processes into actionable and executable Ansible code.
• Administration of RDS databases throughout the development and production lifecycles
• Implement database security and performance tuning
• Ability to occasionally perform patches and other maintenance operations during off-peak hours
• Provide mentorship to group members and will be expected to help develop and support mid and junior level staff
• Collaborate with development, architecture, and release teams, providing architectural design recommendations, driving standards for effective RDS transition to production operations
• Drive end to end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for RDS, using different tools & Plan and coordinate system upgrades
• Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation and configuration of RDS for production and non-production environments
• Conduct technical reviews and Walkthroughs of system design documentation with development and design team members
• Proactively monitor and setup alerting mechanism for both database and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability
• Create users, establish database security, create resource queue, performance tuning in terms of query execution etc.
• Perform capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects
• Generate reports of all processes and jobs currently running on RDS with details like users, start and end time, CPU Usage and time, Memory usage, IO Time, locking etc.,
