Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation and processes to support AWS-based environments.
• Configure and manage Amazon EKS clusters, including network policies, security policies, Istio, and other associated tools.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and other automation tools.
• Build, maintain, and optimize containerized solutions with EKS and ECS.
• Define and enforce cloud technology standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, including IP networking, DNS, security groups, and load balancers.
• Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) for AWS environments.
• Implement cloud security best practices, focusing on encryption, access control, and network security.
• Collaborate in agile teams for development, infrastructure management, and issue resolution.
• Provide documentation, status reports, and escalate issues to stakeholders and IT management as necessary.
• Monitor and maintain AWS EC2 and VPC configurations.
• Promote a DevOps culture and streamline processes using continuous integration and deployment practices.
• Stay up-to-date with AWS cloud technology innovations and infrastructure improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong expertise with AWS services, including EC2, VPC, EKS, ECS, Route 53, and security features.
• Proficiency in IaaC with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and container orchestration.
• In-depth knowledge of networking principles, such as DNS, load balancers, reverse proxies, and VPNs.
• Experience with cloud security and the ability to implement security policies in AWS environments.
• Ability to manage complex cloud-based infrastructure and troubleshooting networking issues.
• Strong understanding of HA and DR principles for cloud environments.
• Experience in the implementation of DevOps methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and drive them to resolution.
• Knowledge of on-premises virtualization technology is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Istio and service mesh technologies.
• Previous experience in building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
