Job Description
Required Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience working with IBM i (AS/400) environments.
* Strong hands-on experience with IBM i system administration and infrastructure support.
* Experience with OS upgrades, PTF management, system maintenance, and release management.
* Experience managing job queues, subsystems, system monitoring, and performance tuning.
* Experience with user security, profiles, permissions, authorization lists, and access controls.
* Experience monitoring system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning.
* Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Administer, monitor, and support IBM i (AS/400) systems across production, development, and test environments.
* Perform system upgrades, PTF installations, configurations, and ongoing maintenance.
* Manage system objects, libraries, user profiles, authorization lists, and security settings.
* Monitor system performance, job queues, subsystems, disk utilization, and system logs.
* Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) environments.
* Execute backup and recovery processes, including restore testing and validation.
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, performance, and system-level issues.
* Support change management activities, patching, and infrastructure enhancements.
* Enforce security best practices and support compliance and audit requirements.
* Develop and maintain automation scripts, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
* Collaborate with application, database, and operations teams to ensure platform stability and availability.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with HA/DR solutions such as PowerHA, MIMIX, iCluster, or similar.
* Familiarity with compliance and audit requirements (SOX, PCI, etc.).
* Experience with automation or scripting (CL, Shell, or equivalent).
* Exposure to monitoring and reporting tools.
* Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
* Familiarity with IBM i integration with other enterprise systems.
