Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and support AS/400 COBOL and RPG/RPGLE applications.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues involving batch and interactive applications.
  • Design, develop, and optimize DB2 database objects, queries, and data models.
  • Monitor and improve SQL performance and application efficiency on the IBM i platform.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and modernization teams to enhance and integrate legacy applications with distributed systems.
  • Participate in application testing, code reviews, deployments, and production support activities.
  • Support CI/CD processes and development best practices within the IBM i environment.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes, and system enhancements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience with AS/400 (IBM iSeries) application development.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, RPG/RPGLE, CL, DB2, and SQL.
  • Experience developing and supporting batch and online transaction processing applications.
  • Strong database design, query optimization, and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex application and system issues.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating AS/400 applications with modern enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and deployment processes in IBM i environments.
  • Experience working in modernization or legacy transformation initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business productivity tools.
