We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to support and enhance various business applications related to Financial Accounting, Contracts, Billing, Timesheets, Accounts Payable Invoicing, Payroll, and Supply Chain Purchasing. This role will involve close collaboration with IT peers and business users to clarify requirements, design solutions, and implement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain financial business applications, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
- Apply best practices in application development/configuration, including thorough documentation and change management.
- Work closely with Business and Quality Assurance Analysts to create test plans, identify issues, and ensure proper resolution and testing.
- Perform complex data analysis, delivering queries or data updates as needed by internal stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support for financial business system processes on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Troubleshoot data issues within integrated software packages and internally developed applications.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure support and software vendors to resolve technical problems.
- Provide rotational on-call support for Financial Business Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in government aerospace accounting.
- Business Process Analyst experience in defining requirements for solution development.
- Strong development skills in Oracle PL/SQL and Java.
- Familiarity with DelTek Extensibility Designer and ability to build customized solutions within vendor frameworks.
- Experience supporting ERP financial systems, particularly Deltek Costpoint.
- Knowledge of business data flow related to cash flow, invoicing, payroll, and project cost collection.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and PivotTables for data validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field, plus 8+ years of related experience.
- Advanced experience with Java, application interface/integration using XML web services, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional with effective communication skills across all management levels.
