Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in the design, development, and implementation of APIs across enterprise systems.
  • Define and execute API strategies to meet business and technical objectives.
  • Ensure APIs are secure, scalable, performant, and well-documented.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API performance and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, product, architecture, and security) to ensure seamless integration of APIs with other systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in API management, integration, and cloud technologies.
  • Design and implement complex software solutions for APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and real-time streaming architectures.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
  • Review designs and code, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation and optimization within DevOps processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and frameworks to ensure solutions remain innovative and future-proof.
  • Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking to evaluate short-, medium-, and long-term decisions effectively.

 

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of extensive experience in the IT industry.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with API management and integration technologies, such as IBM API Connect, Apigee, and Azure API Management gateways.
  • Proven experience building REST APIs and GraphQL services.
  • In-depth understanding of APIM gateway concepts, including Custom Domains and Azure Policies.
  • Strong proficiency with Azure integration services — Logic Apps, Function Apps, Event Grid, and Event Hub.
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps and experience with Git Actions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java Microservices development.
  • Experience with scripting and IaC tools such as Terraform and JavaScript (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD best practices.
  • Knowledge of Imperva or Akamai communication layers.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to align technical and business stakeholders.
 
Preferred Skills
  • Cloud-native application architecture and containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to real-time event-driven systems and data streaming pipelines.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level security and compliance standards for APIs.
