Job Description
Qualifications
  • ACAS/FCAS designation or equivalent actuarial credentials from recognized actuarial societies.
  • Strong experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
  • State filing experience with Departments of Insurance (DOI) for personal lines is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; alternatively, 5 additional years of actuarial/business/analytical experience may substitute for degree.
  • Proficiency in actuarial, mathematical, and statistical methods applied to data-driven decision-making.
  • Intermediate skills in data analysis and visualization using Python, SQL, or other relevant tools.
  • Ability to connect analytical insights to practical business challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex actuarial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage state filing processes for assigned states, including rate development, trend analysis, rate revisions, preparation of regulatory documentation, securing Lead Actuary approvals, and addressing DOI inquiries and objections.
  • Independently apply advanced actuarial methodologies to solve complex, unstructured problems.
  • Ensure data quality and appropriateness for trend analyses and rate level indications; translate business requirements into technical specifications; execute modeling; interpret and communicate results to support business decisions.
  • Utilize actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques to enhance actuarial deliverables.
  • Apply deep understanding of products, market trends, and stakeholder requirements to solve business challenges.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend process improvements; develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead actuarial unit initiatives and contribute as a subject matter expert in cross-functional projects.
  • Communicate complex analyses and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Synthesize conflicting data and information into clear, compelling value propositions.
  • Ensure that business risks are appropriately identified, measured, monitored, and managed in compliance with organizational policies.
