1.  First Things First – Keep Your Attitude At Home!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t take any offense but freshers tend to\nwear their attitude up their sleeves because you are still in your dream world.\nKeep pricking your bubble because it is time to taste the real world and trust\nus no one is in the mood to take your attitude. Don\u2019t assume that your\ninterviewer is a mid-level manager with no technical background. They know what\nthey are up to and you cannot fool them. Just be honest about the tools you\nhave used and not used. They know that you are a fresher and you can\u2019t have\nknowledge of everything already. So, be polite with your conversation and\nanswer the questions in all honesty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.  Don\u2019t Be Under Confident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes, it is understandable for you to be a tad\nbit nervous for your first-ever tech interview but you need to trust yourself.\nTo sell a pen, the salesman needs to convince himself to buy it before he goes\nout to make sales. Similarly, unless you don\u2019t reflect confidence in your\ncandidature, the hiring manager won\u2019t too. Never try to oversell yourself but\nalways portray yourself as a candidate with incredible potential and an endless\ndesire to learn and grow. This attitude will take you far!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.  You Are Not Their Saviour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In extension to your bubble life, some\nfreshers tend to believe that the company they are applying to is in dire need\nto hire them and if not for them, the organization is doomed. NADA! That is\nnever the case. While big organizations have multiple-level staffing, mid-level\ncompanies or even small local hardware stores can do without you. They might\nlook like they are collapsing, but they are still doing fine. So, never tell\nthe hiring manager that they need you. Always know that YOU need the job!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.  Don\u2019t Let Your Inner Critic Come Out <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You may be well versed with your concepts and\npractical knowledge of the tools they are asking for, but don\u2019t show off. Never\ntry to criticize the questions put across by the hiring manager. It could be a\nbasic question, could be a trick question, or might even lack sense sometimes.\nTry to be the problem solver instead of the problem maker. A hiring manager is\nalways looking for a candidate who can solve the problems at hand and not start\narguing or questioning unnecessarily. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.  Show Excitement For The Role You Applied For<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Last on our list, but absolutely no the least\nimportant. Being excited about the job is important to show not just for freshers\nbut also for experienced professionals. A hiring manager always chooses\ncandidates who may be lesser skilled but are enthusiastic about working with\nthem. You can do that by asking questions at the interview which could include,\n\u201cHow is the work culture at the office?\u201d, \u201cIs the average staff young?\u201d, \u201cWill\nI have my creative space?\u201d etc. to show that you are really keen on taking\nresponsibility and be a part of the company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surviving your first tech interview is your\nfirst step in the real world. You are fresh from the oven and the hiring\nmanagers might attempt to attack you with a few comments or trick questions.\nNever let an interview define your career ahead. Getting the job is not the end\ngoal right now because first interviews can be intimidating. Learn from your\nmistakes and keep moving ahead in your life.
