The most difficult thing after a root canal\nappointment undoubtedly is a job interview, and if you nodded a yes while\nreading this, then I am with you, my friend. Being someone who has frequently\nswitched jobs at the beginning of my career, sitting down for interviews almost\nbecame a part of my routine. Don\u2019t get me wrong when I say that I switched\nseveral jobs. I did that because I wanted to travel the world and so kept\nlooking for new jobs in different states and countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And because I\u2019ve been part of several job interviews in various states over the years, I\u2019ve tried and tested several methods to impress and almost influence the hiring manager to hire me during the interview process. Since many of you are still struggling to get jobs in Florida<\/a>, I thought of sharing my experience and breaking down the secret for you all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Are Hiring Managers Looking\nFor In Their Candidate? <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Before we jump into the \u2018hows\u2019 of the\nsituation, let\u2019s start with the \u2018whats\u2019. It is of utmost importance to\nunderstand the mindset with which your hiring manager is sitting on the chair\nopposite you, browsing through your resume while you nervously sit and wait for\nthem to speak. As someone in charge of hiring people for the company, a manager\nnot only wants you to be academically qualified or experience for the job, but\nthey also expect you to fit in the office culture and show sincerity towards\nyour responsibility. A few of the key points that they look for are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. If you will fit in their Culture<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. If you will cooperate with the Management<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. If you have the Core Skills<\/strong> for the job<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. If you will understand your Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. If you are Excited<\/strong> about the opportunity<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. If you will deliver Long Term Services<\/strong> to the organization<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    How To Impress and Influence The\nHiring Manager? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Now that you\u2019re aware of what is expected out\nof you during the interview, I will take you through each point and how to ace\nat it to check through all the boxes of the hiring manager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \"How<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    1.  \nDo A Thorough\nResearch Of The Company<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Before you step in for the interview, do your\nresearch right. Try to read up about the company and the culture they follow.\nRead employee reviews to understand if the company has a friendly, relaxed, or\nabsolutely corporate culture. Once you know what you\u2019re getting yourself into,\nit\u2019ll be easier to present yourself as a good fit. If the company portrays a\nrelaxed office culture, then talk about things on similar lines. Tell them that\nyou\u2019re looking for an organization that gives you your creative liberties and\nthere is no strict hierarchy so that you can communicate your concerns to the\nperson in charge there and then. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2.   Be Excited and Expressive\nAbout The Opportunity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    When you sit down for an interview, the hiring\nmanager looks through your posture and your body language when you talk to\nthem. You need to convince them that you are really excited about this job and\nthat you are willing to cooperate with the management in whatever capacity you\ncan. Express your interest by asking questions about the company or by telling\nthem that you have kept a tab on the company stats for a while now because you\nwanted to be part of the team someday. These things make the manager believe\nthat you are truly interested in the job and are not there to waste everyone\u2019s\ntime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3.  \nTalk About\nRelevant Skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Always be careful when you start mentioning\nyour skillset. Make sure that you only talk about the ones that are relevant to\nthe position you have applied for. Do not unnecessarily keep going about\nmentioning basic skills or made-up talents. That never works! If you\u2019re right\nout of college, you can still play around a little since you don\u2019t have any\nprevious experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    My\nadvice for kids –<\/strong> Do tell them about your exceptional\ncoffee-making skills. Trust me it\u2019ll take you places!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4.  \nBe A Good\nListener Too<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    What nobody tells you about an interview is\nthat you don\u2019t just have to talk well in that room, but also have to be a great\nlistener. Your hiring manager will ask you questions and keep talking in\nbetween, do not cut them or ignore what they said. Always take a break in\nbetween your talking and hear them out. That shows your respect and\nattentiveness. the manager takes you for someone who is humble, cooperative,\nand mindful. Plus, taking a little break gives you time to think about what to\nsay next. That really helps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5.  \nAsk Questions\nIf You Can <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Most hiring managers always end the interview\nwith \u201cDo you have any questions?\u201d. Try to make use of it. Since you have done\nyour research well, try to come up with a relevant question that leaves a good\nimpression. Don\u2019t jump onto questions like What is the salary? What is the\nnotice period? These will leave a very negative impression. Instead, ask about\nquestions like I was going through your magazine while waiting for my turn and\nread that the company joined hands with an International client recently, that\nmust have brought in a lot of new opportunities for the company? Or ask\nsomething that is relevant to your profile. For example, if you are applying as\na fresher, ask them about the average age of the office staff so that you can\nknow if you\u2019ll fit well or not. \n\nThese are pretty much all tried and tested in one or\nthe other interviews I gave, so I can assure you that they work brilliantly.\nPrepare well but do not stress too much. Interviews can be fun if you know what\nare you looking for.
